DIRECTIONS Available Courses The "INDEX" tab has a menu of AOA CE On-line programs available for you to participate in. Click the lesson title you are interested in to reveal the lesson syllabus, the presenter, the cost, the CE approval statement, issue date, expiration date, and sponsorship information (if applicable). AOA CE ON-LINE programs are certified by Nova Southeastern University, College of Optometry and are supported through unrestricted educational grants from industry. These programs are approved by COPE for CE credit. Boards of optometry do not accept all COPE courses without exceptions. ŬIn rare cases, participating boards may deny CE credit for specific COPE Approved courses that do not meet their regulations. We recommend that you contact your state licensing board to see if a specific course meets your CE requirements for license renewal. To access a lesson, click on its title in the index. Your connection speed will be analyzed and a recommendation will be made of the lesson file size optimized for your bandwidth. You may select any of the file size options. Once selected, downloading will begin immediately and the lesson will begin shortly. Navigation The AOA CE ON-LINE website features an Index Tab on the far right side of the page. The Index Tab provides a list of all available CE courses you can take on-line. The tab also provides a menu of other useful features of this site, these include:
While viewing a lesson, use the video controls at the bottom of the page to pause, re-play, or skip ahead. You may also navigate within a lesson by using the lesson chapters listed in the "INDEX" tab. Registration It is recommended that you register and log in prior to starting the lesson. The system will track your lesson progress. In the event you need to discontinue a lesson prior to completion, you can easily resume where you left off. For your convenience, the system will also create a history of lessons you have completed and the outcomes of the your exams. This can be accessed by selecting "User History" from the INDEX tab. You must be registered and logged in to take the exam. To register, you must provide us with your ARBO OE Tracker Number. AOA CE ON-LINE uses your ARBO OE Tracker Number as the identifying numbers of our participants. This number is designed to track all optometristsí continuing education activity in one central database. Any licensed optometrist may go to www.arbo.org to obtain his/her OE Tracker number. If you have participated in AOA CE programs before, either in-person or online, you have a record in our database already. Please do not re-register, simply log in and select a new course. ŬIf you have never participated in a AOA CE program, please register by clicking the "Register" button. The Exam When you are ready to take the exam, click on the "Take Test" button at the bottom of the page, or in the INDEX Tab. If not registered and/or logged in, you will be asked to do so at this time. If payment is required for a program, a credit card payment page will appear for your completion. You must use this method of payment to participate in our online CE programs. To answer the multiple choice questions, click on the radio button of your selected choice for each answer, than proceed to the next question. We recommend that you print a copy of your answers before you submit them to us. Once completed, click on "Submit Exam" at the bottom of the page. Your exam will automatically be graded. If you successfully complete the exam (score of 70% or higher), an on-screen notice will instantly appear notifying you of your score. You official Continuing Education Certificate will be e-mailed to you immediately. If you receive a score of 69% or less, you will receive an on-screen message notifying you that you did not pass the exam. You are allowed two attempts at successful completion of the examination for each program. You may review your incorrect answers, and the corresponding lesson content, by selecting the "REVIEW" button at the bottom of page. If you have already submitted an exam answer sheet for a specific program via the mail, please do not submit a second copy via the web. Your cooperation is appreciated. User Profile To update your personal information choose "Update Profile" from the Index tab. You must be logged in to gain access to your profile. Once your record is located in our database, the information we have will be presented. Please edit/update the information as appropriate. User History As a participant of AOA CE ON-LINE programs, you will be able to access a history of the lessons you have viewed and of the outcomes exams you have taken via this website. From the INDEX tab, choose "USER HISTORY" from the menu. You must be logged in to gain access to your user history. Once your record is confirmed in our database, your test history will appear. Minimum System Requirements Internet Connection: AOA CE ON-LINE provides a Rich Media experience, and therefore is best accessed using a high-speed internet connection.
